Seahawks reportedly shopping former Stanford CB Richard Sherman

Facing big roster decisions this offseason, the Seattle Seahawks will reportedly look into trade options for cornerback Richard Sherman. So if Sherman were to end up elsewhere next year as a result of Seattle deciding to go in a different direction, here are five potential landing spots for the cornerback to consider.

Sherman responded to that report by telling ESPN's Josina Anderson that he hasn't "been told anything" about his future.

The strongest indications that Sherman's departure from the Seahawks is imminent have come from teammates on social media.

Kam Chancellor also responded to Sherman's message, suggesting Sherman could be gone.

"That text message got my heart hurting. damn 25 was my Dawg #WhatsNext", Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane tweeted.

Sherman's a three-time first-team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowl member but he's coming off a ruptured Achilles in 2017 and he turns 30 in late March. The chances of Sherman joining a team like the Rams after all of the years with the Seahawks sounds insane to say out loud, but also, how much would Sherman love to face his former team twice a year? This is the final year of the four-year, $56 million contract he signed prior to the 2015 season.

Releasing Sherman would clear $11 million in cap for the Seahawks while furthering their youth movement, as Sherman turns 30 later this month. "They could trade him or release him, or potentially keep him (likely at a different salary)", National Football League insider Ian Rapoport wrote on Twitter.
