The first teaser for House of Cards season 6 is here

Spacey, who starred as Frank Underwood and was an executive producer on "House of Cards" for the first five seasons, was let go after he was accused of sexual assault and misconduct.

The sixth season of the Netflix series will arrive this autumn, and Robin Wright will be the sole lead star, following Kevin Spacey's departure.

Now, the first trailer for the Wright-led season has dropped and, as expected, there isn't a Spacey to be found. "We're just getting started", she declares in the brief trailer.

The footage seems mostly shot just for the teaser, but the centerpiece is the reveal of Claire, the wife of Spacey's Frank Underwood, as the new president. Interesting term of phrase as it is the show's final season.

It's certainly not the direction Netflix meant to take the show but given the circumstances and how the fifth season ended, it allows Netflix to give the series a proper send off.

Thankfully in Robin Wright, the series still has another big star who is more than capable of not just leading it, but seemingly taking on the role as President of the US.

Netflix and Media Rights Capital ultimately suspended production on the sixth season to address "any concerns" among the cast and crew regarding the allegations against Spacey.

The final season will wrap up in eight episodes, as opposed to its usual 13-episode order. This time, there is no sign of Kevin Spacey.

Netflix have previously claimed that they planned the show's end months before they officially announced the last ever season.

As House of Cards fans are well aware, breaking the fourth wall was a privilege that belonged exclusively to Frank until the very end of the fifth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
