Cornell Frat's 'Pig Roast' Gave Points For Sex With Heaviest Woman

A Cornell University fraternity is on a two-year probation after hosting a "pig roast" contest in which new members were encouraged to have sex with as many women as possible without telling them about the competition.

The Zeta Beta Tau game consisted of new fraternity members getting points for having sex with overweight women on campus, according to the New York Post. According to the officials, if members drew a tie in the contest, the victor would be the member who had sex with the woman who weighed the most. Cornell's fraternity and sorority review board determined the chapter was in violation of policies against hazing and sexually abusive behavior.

Cornell's Interfraternity Council (IFC) President Paul Russell told The Cornell Daily Sun, "The decision about the specific sanctions placed on ZBT was made jointly by administrators and IFC leadership in a review board hearing earlier this year after a hearing and a review of the allegations".

The fraternity previously came under fire in January after its University of MI chapter was found to be in violation of rules regarding hazing, reports Detroit News.

In December, the New Brunswick chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity at Rutgers University was shut down after frat members allegedly drugged members of a sorority mixer with Xanax-spiked punch, according to and the Daily Targum, Rutgers' student newspaper.

ZBT's Cornell chapter said on Facebook Saturday that the activities "were neither chapter sanctioned activities, nor ones that brothers were aware of".

He said: 'Behavior that degrades and dehumanizes women contributes to a climate and culture of tolerance for sexual violence'.

"Through this brotherhood review process if we identify individual brothers we find not committed to [social responsibility and integrity] they will be expelled from the brotherhood", the statement said.

The chapter expressed "mutual disgust" at the contest and said it was "horrified at the notion of the degradation and/or objectification of women".

Zeta Beta Tau have also said it is planning to host educational programs on healthy relationships. Those programs will also be offered to the campus community at large.
