Cold temperatures are expected to continue into New Year's Day, with a high of around 15 degrees and a low of around 3 degrees. The Wind Chill Advisory has been expanded to include all of Rhode Island (except for Block Island) and all of Southeastern Massachusetts. In Chicago the National Weather Service forecast the New Year's Eve temperature at midnight to be -2 with a -19 wind chill. 2018 begins with sunny skies, but bitterly cold temps as the high reaches 4 degrees. The combination of cold air and wind will drive wind chill readings down to below zero into Monday morning.
