Winter Weather Advisory: 10 pm Monday to 6 pm Wednesday

The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday, for all of Southeast Michigan, including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Livingston, Washtenaw, Lenawee, Lapeer, Monroe, Midland, Saginaw, Shiawassee and Genesee counties. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches, with localized amounts up to 12 inches, are possible.

Lake effect snow showers will develop Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday across central NY, according to the National Weather Service.

Up to three inches of snow can be expected especially across the higher elevations by early Wednesday. But the break will be short-lived, as another, more potent system pulls into the Great Lakes region overnight Monday into Tuesday.

A weak cold front is giving us mostly cloudy skies with scattered afternoon snow showers.

We'll see a series of weaker lows move through the Great Lakes.

A general snowfall this morning will transition to lake effect snow Tuesday. Highs are only expected to be in the upper teens, and with a 20-25mph wind, it will feel like single digits to near zero most of the day.

That will make the skiers in the area happy, as Holiday Valley began making snow again Friday in the hopes of keeping it open throughout the season. Afternoon temperatures will only rebound to the mid 40s despite plenty of sunshine.
