According to the latest scoop, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will become available in the Chinese market on December 10, with a CNY 1,399 price tag.

Similar to the previous iteration Xiaomi Redmi 4A, the company will be skipping on the fingerprint sensor for this budget oriented Redmi 5A.

The handset is also expected to come with 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, a dual-setup 16MP main camera, a 5MP front-snapper, and a 4,000mAh battery. Powered by 1.4GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, it comes in two storage options - 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM +32GB storage.

In terms of specs, the clear-cut victor here is the Redmi 5A which comes boasting of a spec sheet that embarrasses not just the Nokia 2, but also the Bharat 5 with the hardware it brings to the battle. The phone has been announced in two variants - 2GB RAM paired with 16GB storage and 3GB of RAM mated to a 32GB ROM - with the entry model being announced with a price tag of 5,999 while the 3GB RAM variant will retail for 7,999.

Xiaomi has launched its much anticipated "Desh Ka Smartphone", Redmi 5A, yesterday for a price of Rs 3,999. With 3,000 mAh battery and 4G network support, Redmi 5A is a real value for money for all entry-level smartphone users who want to make the most of high-speed mobile internet connectivity on a low budget smartphone.

Battery: If Micromax has beaten Xiaomi in a straight competition it is the battery. The smartphone measures 140.4x70.1x8.35mm and weighs 137 grams. Unlike other Xiaomi phones, the device has a dedicated micro SD slot.

The Redmi 5A again looks to be the victor here as it comes sporting a 13-megapixel camera on the backwith f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus and LED flash. The graphics performance is handled by the Adreno 308 GPU on board. The array of sensors on the device include an acccelerometer, a proximity sensor and ambient light sensor. The Bharat 5 too runs Android Nougat with a custom UI, but there is no information on the software updates so far. Although the device sports a smaller 3000mAh battery, running MIUI9 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 helps the Xiaomi Redmi 5A with battery life.
