Trump lands in Philippines, final stop in Asia

Duterte has been a controversial figure since taking office as president a year ago, and launching a war on drugs that has killed at least 3,900 people in the Philippines.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I sang uninvited, upon the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States", Duterte later said, according to the ABS-CBN news channel.

The President previously criticized the United Nations for expressing concern over his anti-narcotics drive, which has seen some 3,800 drug suspects killed according to police. However, at some point into the banquet, Duterte, seated next to Trump in his formal Philippines long-sleeved white shirt, suddenly stood up and startled his guests with a vocal performance.

Trump was originally scheduled to depart Manila on Monday but he added a day to the visit so he could more fully participate in one of the summits. While human rights groups were pressing the US President to take a tough stance on Duterte's bloody war on drugs, the issue reportedly did not see the prime light during their discussion.

When the reporters asked Trump whether he would raise human rights at the meeting, Duterte replied with: "Whoa, whoa".

"President Duterte had several bilateral meetings last night, including with Japan, ROK [Republic of Korea/South Korea], India, and Russia", DFA spokesperson Robespierre Bolivar said in a statement.
