Former TV anchor says Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted her son in 2016

Unruh said her son did not report the incident at the time "largely because of embarrassment and fear".

Longtime Boston news anchor Heather Unruh made the tearful and stunning accusation today that two-time Oscar victor Kevin Spacey sexually molested her "starstruck" teenage son a year ago at an upscale Nantucket bar. She said watching Spacey host the Tony Awards this past year and be celebrated as a man and actor was "hurtful". Her son told Spacey he was 21, Unruh said.

Unruh said she knows of at least one other young man who was "targeted" by Spacey on the MA island.

Unruh said her son filed a police report last week with the Nantucket Police Department and that a criminal investigation is underway. Actor Anthony Rapp said Spacey made sexual advances on him during a party in 1986.

Assistant Cape and Islands District Attorney Tara L. Miltimore confirmed to the Herald that Spacey, 58, is under criminal investigation. "That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention away from what you really are: a sexual predator".

"Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey", a rep for the network says in a statement to PEOPLE last week.

Her son is represented by Mitchell Garabedian, an attorney best known for representing clergy sex abuse victims.

"Reports of sexual assaults are confidential under [state law]", the spokesman says.

"He's committed to doing what he can to stop Kevin Spacey from victimizing anyone else", she said.

'This isn't a coming out story about Spacey, but a story of survivorship by Anthony Rapp & those who speak out about unwanted sexual advances, ' Ellis tweeted.

"The #weinsteinscandal has emboldened me- #truth time", she tweeted. "Time the dominoes fell", she wrote.

Since then, other allegations have surfaced and the Oscar-winning star said he is seeking "evaluation and treatment".

The alleged victim also reported it to police by phone sometime this year, but it's unclear if police are investigating, TMZ reported.

Spacey has not issued a response to any of the allegations beyond Rapp.

Spacey has said he doesn't remember the encounter but apologized if such "drunken behavior" occurred.

A lawyer for Spacey didn't immediately return an email on Wednesday.

Unruh's allegation comes on the heels of several other allegations made against Spacey, which caused Netflix to cut ties with the actor and suspend production on the sixth season of "House of Cards", which is filmed and produced in Baltimore, indefinitely.
