NYPD Building Case Against Harvey Weinstein

De la Huerta has been locked in a legal battle with Lionsgate over her work in the movie Nurse 3D. That's when she alleges Weinstein took off her dress and forced himself on her. He also said that detectives had corroborated parts of her account, the Associated Press reported. They have subpoenaed people in the case.

"If this person was still in NY and it was recent we would go right ahead and make the arrest, no doubt".

"She put forth a credible and detailed narrative to us", Boyce said. We then sought to garner corroboration - this happened seven years ago - and we found corroboration.

An email message sent to Weinstein representative Sallie Hofmeister was not immediately returned.

Weinstein has not commented on the latest allegations, but has repeatedly denied accusations of non-consensual sex.

The actress' attorney provided material to New York District Attorney Maxine B. Rosenthal, who is considering filing charges against the movie mogul. NY doesn't have a statute of limitations on rape.

Weinstein allegedly offered a ride home to her apartment where he demanded to come inside and have a drink de la Huerta said. She describes him as being drunk at the time, and insisting again on going up to her apartment. She says she had been drinking and was in no state to have consensual sex. "This is what we're moving forward with", he said. Weinstein's representatives have not responded to media inquiries about where he is, but TMZ on Friday posted a photo of a man it said was Weinstein in disguise eating at a Phoenix restaurant. Vance's office said the NYPD's investigators did not consult prosecutors in the sex crimes unit before arranging the meeting that led to the recording. The person declined to give their name.

Evidence against Weinstein may be delivered to a judge, in order for police to obtain an arrest warrant, or the evidence could go to a grand jury, if police decide to pursue an indictment.

Police investigated it as a possible case of forcible touching, a misdemeanor with a two-year time limit for bringing charges under NY law. The two had come across each other earlier that night at the Standard Hotel. The NYPD has defended their investigation.

Officers have received 11 separate allegations of sexual assault on dates ranging from the 1980s to 2015, both in London and outside the United Kingdom.

The charity said in statement that it is not a target of the probe and is cooperating with investigators.
