Air France flight makes emergency landing in Canada after engine explodes

Air France Flight 66, originating at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, landed at Goose Bay in Labrador at 1542 GMT, the airline said, and no one was hurt in the incident.

According to Flight Fleets Analyzer, F-HPJE was delivered to Air France in May 2010 and is equipped with a total of 516 seats. "The passengers are currently being assisted by teams dispatched to the location", says Air France, which is now working to re-route passengers to Los Angeles.

The plane landed safely, but part of its engine cowling was missing and it scattered debris across the runway.
