Emmy Loser Jackie Hoffman Screams "DAMN IT" After Supporting Actress Defeat

Emmy Loser Jackie Hoffman Screams

The other night, The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards aired on CBS, hosted by Stephen Colbert. When Dern's name was called out, Hoffman was clearly pictured on screen yelling: "Damn it, damn it!" as Dern rose to accept the statuette. Dern is, of course, the daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern.

While several publications have reported that Hoffman was "not pleased" at losing out, judging by her tweets afterwards it seems that the actress and stand-up comedian was likely joking.

Hoffman didn't note Dern's history with the awards show, but the Big Little Lies actress was nominated five times before this year, and this was her first win. Laura Dern is pretty much the last person you could accuse of elitism in Hollywood, as I'm sure Hoffman knows.

Laura Dern, who picked up the best supporting actress gong for her role in the HBO mini series praised the two female producers in her acceptance speech, acknowledging the difficulties that her friends and colleagues had previously spoken about.

Hoffman claimed in another tweet, "I hear that Laura Dern looted art from Nazi victims".

At present, her Twitter bio reads, "http://I'm kidding".

If this was the case, then Hoffman had previously set up the in-character reaction in the weeks leading up to the Emmys.
