Cardinals' Johnson expected to miss extended time

Speaking Monday, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said David Johnson is seeking a second opinion on his wrist injury, but that his current prognosis is the same as T.J. Logan's, who is on injured reserve with a wrist issue.

After leaving Sunday's game against the Lions in the third quarter, Johnson's x-rays came back negative.

He is coming off his first full season as the starter where he racked up 1,239 rushing yards with 16 touchdowns along with 80 catches for 879 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

According to Ian Rapoport, Johnson busted his wrist pretty good in yesterday's loss to the Detroit Lions and he's going to be out a while. He would likely see success against a Colts team that performed poorly to open the season, and the Cardinals need to think long-term with Johnson in hopes of contending for a playoff spot down the stretch. Johnson was a favorite No. 1 pick for fantasy football fans.

Jared Veldheer spent all offseason preparing for his new role as a right tackle with the Arizona Cardinals. The team is hoping it didn't also lose star running back David Johnson. "I really expect our five-star players to bounce back pretty quick".
