Teen Jumps Out Of Plane's Emergency Exit Onto SFO Tarmac

According to a report by the Associated Press, the boy opened the emergency door when the plane just landed and jumped off onto the tarmac at the San Francisco airport.

The 17-year-old, a US citizen, removed the door minutes after the Copa Airlines flight arrived from Central America, San Francisco Airport spokesman Doug Yakel said.

No runways were affected, and there was no operational impact as a result, SFO spokeperson Doug Yakel said.

A passenger has opened an aeroplane door and jumped out prior to the plane arriving at the terminal in San Francisco. The plane later taxied to its assigned gate and all passengers got off the flight without further problems.

The passenger has been taken into custody by law enforcement. "All other passengers and crew disembarked safely".

Copa Airlines said that an investigation is under way and that the airline is cooperating with authorities.
