Heat will visit with Gordon Hayward first

First, some time after Saturday, Boston would sign Hayward away from the Utah Jazz as a free agent.

In hoping Hayward stays with the Jazz, Tanner Ainge isn't just rooting against his father, but also his brother, Austin, who works in the Celtics front office.

Most recently, it was announced that Hayward would meet with both the Heat and Celtics this weekend before speaking with the Jazz on Monday, according to the Deseret News.

Hayward is also expected to meet with the Jazz and Celtics before deciding where to continue his career. League sources say Hayward wants to take his meetings, and make a decision in short order.

The Heat and Celtics can offer four-years deals of approximately four years for $127 million. "The Jazz, as the incumbent team, are expected to offer Hayward a five-year max contract".

According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics have a two-pronged plan to bring in star forwards Gordon Hayward and Paul George. We'd have to see if Hayward and George can play together.

General manager Danny Ainge's son, Tanner, is now running for Congress in Utah and has continually expressed a desire for Hayward to re-sign with the Jazz.

The Butler University product's standard per game line - 21.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists - suggest he'll help any team. The Boston Celtics have reported interest in Hayward as well, in what could be an intense battle for his services. He earned his first All-Star appearance as part of a Utah team that won 51 games and made it to the second round of the playoffs.

Projecting the lineup with Hayward only, and not including any other additions such as Indiana Pacers two-way star Paul George or free agent Blake Griffin, the Heat's starters look like this: guard Goran Dragic, Hayward, small forward Justise Winslow, forward Josh McRoberts, and center Hassan Whiteside.
