Uber's board votes unanimously to adopt all recommendations of Holder report

Uber hired Holder and his law firm Covington & Burling in February after a former employee of the company, Susan Fowler, published a blog post alleging she had experienced sexual harassment at the company and that its human resources department had tried to cover it up.

What exactly the report contains however, is unclear but won't be for long as TechCrunch reports the recommendations made by Holder will be handed to employees on Tuesday. As Reuters reports via a source "familiar with the situation", among the items on the agenda is a vote of confidence, of sorts, for CEO Travis Kalanick, with the result possibly being a leave of absence and/or a change in his role at the embattled company.

A source raised the prospect that Kalanick could take time off while sweeping changes to management practices were made.

Key unfilled positions include chief operating officer, chief financial officer, chief marketing officer and general counsel - an astonishing list for a company that has more than $7 billion (€6.25 billion) in annual revenue and which was valued at $68 billion (€60.7 billion) by investors previous year. The board reportedly considered this option during their meeting on Sunday, alongside the recommendations in Holder's report. Last week, Eric Alexander, the company's president of Asia business, was sacked after it came out that he obtained medical records of a woman in India who was raped by her driver.

Under Kalanick, Uber has shaken up the taxi industry in hundreds of cities and turned the San Francisco-based company into the world's most valuable startup.

At a staff meeting that day, employees were notified that more than 200 harassment and discrimination claims had been investigated in a separate, parallel investigation by law firm Perkins Coie.

Uber took a step towards reforming its controversial culture on Sunday. The board will also be discussing CEO Travis Kalanick leave of absence from the ride-hailing start up. Michael was in attendance at the escort-karaoke bar in Seoul, where Uber employees allegedly picked women from a line.

Inside Uber, some doubt the company's ability to change with Kalanick and Michael, his right-hand man, in charge, according to one former employee.

Michael would be the biggest name to resign amid Uber's ongoing controversy surrounding its internal culture. An Uber spokeswoman also declined to comment further.

Uber VP of product and growth Ed Baker left the company in March amid alleged complaints about his behaviour.

Kalanick also faces personal crisis, as his mother died at the end of May when she was involved in a boating accident.
