The new Radeon Pro 500 Series for iMac

"This will be our fastest and most powerful Mac ever, which brings workstation-class computing to iMac for the first time", said John Ternus, Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple. Now there are Kaby Lake processors from Intel, better AMD Radeon Pro graphics, faster solid state storage but oddly enough, you still can't go higher than 16GB of system memory.

Since, the iMac Pros if loaded with four Thunderbolt 3 ports and 10GB Ethernet, it is potentially capable to render 5K displays, at ease.

One significant addition to the Apple family is the new iMac Pro, an all-in-one behemoth set to start shipping in December that the company is aiming specifically at enterprise users running enormous workloads. And with a new space grey enclosure and gorgeous 27-inch Retina 5K display with support for 1 billion colours, iMac Pro is as stunning as it is powerful.

Apple also updated the 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8 GHz processor. The Apple iMac Pro 2017 has been announced and it features the latest graphics and CPUs.

Faster AMD Radeon Pro graphics cards are also available for the iMacs, and the hybrid solid-state/spinning disk Fusion drives are now standard. The souped-up new version "will support up to 18 core processors and include a graphic chipset called Radeon Vega", making it Apple's most powerful computer to date, according to the NYT.

Release for the iMac Pro won't be until December in Australia, and unfortunately there's no price yet, but with a starting price of $4999 United States dollars, don't expect this one to be cheap.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar will now be priced at Rs 1,54,900 for the 256GB SSD variant and Rs 1,71,900 for the 512GB SSD variant which is Rs 1,000 cheaper than the previous generation.

These laptops weigh 2lbs and are 13.1mm thin. While Intel is launching new Core chips with those amount of cores under a new brand-name of Core i9, Xeon processors have a number of benefits for creative pros. But we'll come onto them after the iMac Pro. The new iMac are much faster than the previous generations', packing new processors, new graphic technologies, high storage capacity and remarkable band width connectivity. The screen is a 27-inch Retina affair at 5k (5120 x 2880) and the machine will be no bigger than any other iMac.

Apple also claims to have integrated solid-state storage (SSD) that's twice as fast, though only benchmarks will prove that promise. Without Touch Bars across both of Apple's most popular Mac products, we find it unlikely that major software developers like Adobe will add further support for the Touch Bar to their apps beyond their current lukewarm efforts.
