Lebanon wants to ban 'Wonder Woman' because of Gal Gadot's nationality

The initial conflict had arisen surrounding the film due to Israeli actor Gal Gadot's leading role as the titular hero, the charge originally led by the Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel-Lebanon. Chief among them is Connie Nielsen, who plays Hippolyta, ruler of Themyscira and Queen of the Amazons.

Since Wonder Woman always conquers her foes, minor setbacks as this will most likelt not hurt the film.

Wonder Woman begins on Themyscira, an island of Amazon women where Diana is a princess and trained to become a great warrior against her mother's wishes. And watching her grow and still maintain that sense of objective and optimism, despite what she's seen - we haven't had a superhero like that before. Diana, as created in the comics by William Moulton Marston, joins Steve Trevor in trying to end World War II; however, in the film, she will be helping to put a stop to World War I.

Wonder Woman is in cinemas from June 1.

Next, Wonder Woman is in the World War One trenches where she single-handedly takes on a legion of armed enemies. But even more than that, this also makes Wonder Woman the first film in the DCEU to be certified fresh, with its 96% rating sitting high above Man of Steel's 55%, Batman v Superman's 28%, and Suicide Squad's 25%. "We don't distinguish between a good Israeli and a bad Israeli", Masri said of the boycott campaign.

"What attracted me to this character is that she's so many different things", says the actress. She's pretty simple. She is like the parallel of Superman.

Do you ever have any question about anything you wish to ask and get answer? Luckily, Wonder Woman isn't relying on me for success. We went from discussing how it might be a relatively small pop in the world of superhero films, to now banking an estimated $175M in its opening weekend.

There are lots of physical demands being Wonder Woman, and the clothing needs to allow movement. Wonder Woman does kinda, sorta help set up this fall's Justice League, in that it establishes that Diana and Bruce are still in friendly contact after the events of Batman v Superman.
