Accompanied by Pence, Trump walked briefly among the white marble headstones and greeted families, including Brittany Jacobs and her 6-year-old son, Christian, who was dressed like a Marine. The President's first Memorial Day address comes as his administration is pushing back against reports his son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner tried to set up secret communications with Russian Federation.

Trump's recognition of Gold Star families came nearly a year after he became embroiled in a running argument with the family of Capt. Humayun Khan, who died in Iraq.
