Expelled leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui lashes out at BSP chief

Responding to expelled BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui who on Thursday accused her of insulting people from the Muslim community, party supremo Mayawati said during the assembly elections people approached her and told her that Siddiqui was a "blackmailer", as reported by news agency ANI.

Alleging that Mayawati had asked for Rs 50 crore from him, he said: "I asked from where can I get this amount, to which, she asked me to sell my property".

Mayawati had removed Siddiqui as the head of the Uttar Pradesh unit in April.

Siddiqui, however, denied all charges and said that he is deeply hurt by what he called the BSP's "totally false and baseless" allegations.

Mishra alleged that Siddiqui was involved in "anti-party activities" and had taken money from candidates during the assembly elections in which the BSP's tally fell to an all-time low of 19. According to The Indian Express, 57-year-old Naseemuddin had made a foray into politics in 1988 as an independent, contesting and losing in the election for Banda Municipal Board.

He alleged that Mayawati has a gang that kills or indulges in arson at Behenji's bidding.

Yesterday, BSP had expelled Siddiqui, its most prominent Muslim face, and his son from the party for carrying out "anti-party" activities.

Throwing an open challenge to Mayawati, he said, "The BSP supremo must tell the people that on whose instructions did Naseemuddin extort money and where the money has actually gone".

"The charges were deliberately framed against me and my son". When BSP failed to win any seat in 2014, Naseemuddin was given charge of BSP's western UP and Lucknow divisions, while his son was the in-charge of the party's "Muslim Bhaichara" campaign in western UP. Siddiqui himself did not give details but from the conversation it was clear that he was avoiding going to meet Mayawati alone even as she was insistent. "It was out of compulsion that I had to bring him", she said.

"BSP is being knowingly weakened by Mayawati and Anand Kumar (her brother) under a conspiracy by Satish Mishra and Company.people are also of the view that since Mayawati has attained the height which she wanted to reach, she herself wants to end BSP so that no other among the Dalit Samaj could reach this far", a visibly angry Siddiqui said.

On Thursday, Naseemuddin accused Mayawati of calling all Muslims "traitors".

Naseemuddin quoted Mayawati as saying, "After elections in UP Mayawati called me to Delhi and asked me why the Muslims did not vote for the BSP?"
