Drayton Manor theme park incident

Evha Jannath was on a school trip when she allegedly tried to switch seats with another student when she fell from a circular boat on Splash Canyon at Drayton Manor.

Merlin Entertainments is hoping to reopen its three water rides at ita United Kingdom theme parks that it has closed as a precaution after the death of an 11-year-old schoolgirl on a similar water rapids ride at Drayton Manor Park.

The ride, which opened in 1993, is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

A park spokesperson said tonight: "Whilst the HSE and police authority carry on with their important work, we will reopen Drayton Manor Park on Saturday 13 May".

A spokesman for Drayton Manor said the park would reopen on Saturday but the Splash canyon ride would remain closed.
