Call of Duty: WWII takes us back to franchise basics

While we're not sure when we'll get more information on Call of Duty: WWII's Nazi Zombie mode, Activision has confirmed we will see more Multiplayer at this year's E3.

While much of the campaign is still under wraps, Call of Duty WW2 follows the story of the U.S. 1 Infantry Division as they battle their way across Europe.

Over two years in the making, Sledgehammer Games delivers a gritty, personal experience in the setting of the largest worldwide conflict in history to a new gaming generation in Call of Duty: WWII. The trailer of the Call of Duty: World War 2 was released and it buzzed the Twitter with people who couldn't get over the hype.

"Call of Duty: WWII" will release November 3 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If it's an iconic World War II event, then we'll probably play through it here.

"Call of Duty: WWII", though, appears to be going back to the series' bread and butter. Like the fact that it's only on PS4 and Xbox One (sorry PC).

The campaign primarily centres on "young" and "inexperienced" Private Daniels, although one scenario "casts you as a woman fighting in the French resistance". You can't simply find ammo pickups just lying on the ground, like we see in most shooter games these days.

There's also a new feature called Headquarters, a Destiny Tower-esque social area where players can interact with each other outside of multiplayer matches. Call of Duty: WWII is not only about "an American war" and the single-player campaign reflects on this aspect by showing the struggles of both sides. As with everything Zombie-related, all doesn't go to plan.
