Mercedes-Benz Stadium Makes Regular Season Debut Against Packers

Ten days apart, we learned of the schedules for the Green Bay Packers for the 2017 preseason and regular season, respectively.

The NFL released the full regular-season schedule Thursday and the Packers should have little to complain about. The Green Bay Packers won't be on the clock until late in the evening where they are slated to make the 29th overall selection in round one.

At home, the Hawks will play: Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. Besides the Sunday night game at Atlanta, the Packers will play at Pittsburgh under the lights on November 26 and a Saturday night game against Minnesota on December 23 at Lambeau Field.

On Nov. 12, the Packers play the Bears in Chicago, a place they have won in the regular season each of the last six years.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the third toughest team the Packers will face, and arguably the toughest team from the AFC that the Packers will face.

The Packers will finish their slate against the NFC South when they play at the Carolina Panthers on December 17.

The new stadium's completion was slated for March 1, but now won't open until August 26, when the Falcons play their first home exhibition game. With these first two games, Green Bay could very well start the season 0-2.

The Falcons visit Chicago in their first game. Aaron Rodgers is not going to want to face another "Run the Table" type situation, and Russell Wilson, Pete Carroll, and the rest of the Seahawks merry band is trying to prove it still has championship mettle after back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 and 2014. The Super Bowl rematch between the Falcons and the Patriots is set for Week 7, falling on October 22 at Gillette Stadium.
