April the giraffe in NY giving birth before online audience

April's 16-month adventures in gestation have become a popular online attraction in recent months, both because giraffes are listed as "vulnerable" by extinction trackers, and also because people are naturally curious about how does any of that even work, vis-à-vis parts? Following the announcement that the giraffe was finally giving birth, the YouTube live feed had nearly a million current viewers. Animal Adventure has not announced a height and weight for April's calf.

Park staff say momma and son are doing fine. It all went back to February, when someone reported the live feed that had been set up to follow the last moments of the pregnancy as "sexually explicit".
