Shadows Of Valentia' Bundle Announced, Amiibo Functions Revealed — Fire Emblem Echoes

In addition to information on the limited edition, Nintendo brought up Fire Emblem Heroes: Shadows of Valentia's amiibo functionality.

Echoes' Limited Edition includes a hardcover Valentia artboo; a Valentia "sound selection" CD; a pin set featuring protagonists Alm and Celica, as well as Marth; and a copy of the game itself.

The limited edition will retail for $59.99, while the standard version of the game is priced at $39.99.

But the assets don't stop there; on May 19, the Alm and Cecilia amiibo figures shall arrive to expand Nintendo's great lineup.

Fire Emblem Echoes, just like Gaiden, tells the story of two friends named Alm and Celica, who find themselves thrust into a chaotic war between the nations of Rigel and Zofia. Their amiibo ally's stats are tied to the characters' own in-game stats. Using their amiibo in the game will unlock exclusive dungeons, allowing you to earn special items and level up your character.

There's also a feature within Shadows of Valentia that allows players to use the amiibo in battle. Moreover, amiibo grant the ability to sacrifice the health of either character to summon an "illusory hero" for one turn.

This game is the latest in the long-running and growing strategy RPG series, and comes hot on the heels of the recently released free-to-start title Fire Emblem Heroes on smart devices. All other amiibo will summon additional monsters to the battleground to assist players in battle.

Nintendo has revealed Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be receiving a collector's edition in North America.
