Microsoft launches special edition Xbox Wireless Controller Tech Series

The new controller series will be compatible with the Copilot console feature on Xbox One. The build quality of a Pro, but without the interchangeable buttons.

Microsoft has announced a swell new Xbox One wireless controller design that should be ideal for gamers suiting up for their next FPS campaign.

The Xbox Wireless Controller - Recon Tech Special Edition is available now for pre-order.

The first release in the new range is the Recon Tech Special Edition which will be available to buy for $69.99 Dollars from April 25. They do however feature rubberised grips on the back as well as "premium finishes", so it's certainly a step up from the standard range of controllers. In developing this new controller series, the Xbox team was inspired by military technology and performance patterns, exploring concepts stemming from combat armor and sci-fi mechanical gear.

Of course, it also has the same features as other Xbox One Wireless Controllers, it just looks different. Copilot mode allows players to bind two Xbox One controllers as a single input device, making a variety of games accessible for players with physical disabilities or mobility impairments.
